Ask Alex - I thought that I'd do a bit of a Q&A so I asked friends and family what they would like to know and here are some of the more sensible ones!

When did you start doing triathlon?  My first race was the Hart "almost olympic" triathlon in 1999.

What, from your point of view, is the fascination of this sport? It is the hardest spotr in the world to master.  And each race is different.

Which are you strengths?  I would say that I'm positive and can always find good things even in difficult session.  I have been called a mental animal which I suppose is a good thing!

What dont you like?  I'm lucky I really love it all, especially the racing.

What made you start triathlons?  Supporting my dad when he competed in one, I thought I could do that!  I even remember him doing a triathlon when I was 3 and we lived in Canada and I'm pretty sure that I wanted to take part back then too!

Which coach has influenced you the most?  The greatest influence has been Ken West, he taught me how to think positively, analyse my movement, break things down and how to move in the most efficient way.  Which made me realise that I was meant to be a triathlete.

Which Athlete (any sport) has inspired you the most?  That is hard, there are a number!  My dad has to be one of them.  But for what each has gone through, Lance Armstrong Michael Johnson, Haile Gebrselassie and Steve Ovett.

What is your favourite motivational Quote?  I have NO limits

What is your favourite motivational quote from a film/movie?   Sanka Coffie: Hey Derice! Ya dead?   Derice Bannock: No mon, I'm not dead . But I have to finish the race.  - from Cool Runnings

If there were no limitations (time, distance, death etc) Who would you most like invite to dinner and for what reason?  I'd like to invite my Grandad as I never really knew him.

What is your favourite food?  I like pizza, sphagetti bolognaise, porridge and bangers and mash.

What would you be doing if you werent a triathlete?  If I had to give up Triathlon tomorrow I would like to become a coach and still be involved with sport.

What is your most embarrassing sporting moment?  Going to tennis lessons when I was 6 and pulling my trousers off only to find I hadn't got shorts on.  Luckily no one saw and I played the session in tracksuit bottoms.  Still remember it vividly though!

What makes you laugh?  Good jokes, funny films and my Girlfriend Tish.
